Ex-Uber driver wins £23,000 in holiday pay and minimum wage claim

Platform giant Uber will compensate a former driver for its failure to pay minimum wages and holiday pay following an approved settlement by a London tribunal.

James Farrar, who battled Uber all the way to the Supreme Court to have its drivers recognised as “workers”, rather than self-employed contractors, under UK law, continued to pursue the ride-sharing giant for outstanding benefits incurred in line with the top court’s February 2021 ruling.
