Hong Kong court stresses full disclosure in anonymity dispute

Reigniting debate over transparency and the need to balance parties’ rights in the post-MeToo era, a Hong Kong court recently overturned an anonymity order in a high-profile sexual harassment case due to a lack of full and frank disclosure by the applicant.

The ongoing case involves a junior female lawyer, referred to only in court documents as “X”, who has accused a former Deacons partner of coercively controlling and sexually assaulting her while working at the law firm.
