How can UAE employers prepare for extreme heat?

As temperatures in the UAE break 50°C this month, authorities and charity groups across the emirates have implemented new initiatives to help workers exposed to the hazardous conditions.

For starters, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), has implemented a midday break for its 20th consecutive year. From 15 June to 15 September, employers are prohibited from allowing workers to operate under direct sunlight and open-air areas between 12:30pm and 3pm.
