The Riyadh Court of Appeal has awarded SR 275,000 (£56,000) to a female employee who was dismissed from her job after refusing to show up to work.

The worker had previously complained to the labour office after being subject to harassment at work, including insults from management and the imposition of penalties and fines without any justification. Additionally, she had not been paid her salary for two months, which her employer blamed on the business’ difficult financial circumstances.
