A recent ruling by South Africa’s labour court is a wake-up call for employers to take appropriate steps to investigate incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace. The ruling, which concludes a five-year dispute, should bring some comfort to employees who hesitate to report harassment for fear that they will not be believed.
