Millions of UK employees will be able to request flexible working from day one of their employment after Rishi Sunak’s government announced workplace reforms. However, despite promises to make flexible working the “default” in British workplaces, critics argue that the changes fall short as they only allow workers a right to request, not a right to have, flexibility.
