UK set to make U-turn on 2023 strike action law

The Labour government plans to scrap legislation imposing a minimum vote threshold for trade unions to carry out strike action.

The repeal of the Trade Union Act, passed by the previous Conservative Party last year, will allow unions to walk out without half of members voting. 

Labour has said it made the decision to increase workers’ rights and U-turn the Conservative’s limits on strike action.
