As matter of law, in Mexico, menstruation is not considered a justified cause for absence. But, since the beginning of this year, the House of Representatives has introduced two bills aimed at amending the Federal Labour Law (FLL) to grant a leave of absence to individuals who menstruate (including women, transgender, and non-binary individuals). Neither bill has been enacted yet.
