A former TikTok employee’s failed claim before Ireland’s Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) should give employers greater confidence in how to deal with remote working requests.

The WRC decision, published earlier this month, saw operations specialist Alina Karabko allege that the social media giant’s rejection of her home-working request “showed [it] only considered its own business needs” and “completely disregarded” her needs as an employee.
