Belgium’s lawmakers adopted the Act on Private Investigation earlier this month, creating new limitations on an employer’s ability to launch private workplace probes against workers.

Under the new rules, which aim to increase transparency and improve privacy rights, employers must have a written policy on launching private investigations, as well as the terms and conditions of such probes.
