US discount retailer Dollar General will pay $12m (£9.2m) to settle claims it put workers in danger, the Department of Labor has announced.

An investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) found violations related to blocked exits, access to fire extinguishers and electrical panels, and improper material storage at the small-box discount retailer’s stores.
