EEOC abortion rule dealt setback from religious groups

A US District Court has blocked the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) from enforcing a policy that requires employers to accommodate workers who have abortions or undergo fertility treatment.

The rule was implemented in June as part of the 2022 Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), which requires employers to provide pregnant workers with certain accommodations “related to the pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions”.
