Since 2022, the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Emiratisation programme has placed certain obligations on employers operating on the UAE mainland. Namely, those with 50+ employees must increase the number of UAE nationals they employ by 2% each year, and those with 20-49 employees must employ one UAE national each calendar year.
