IBM execs discussed making older workers “extinct”, emails reveal

IBM executives referred to older workers as “dinobabies” who needed to be made “an extinct species”, according to documents unsealed by the Federal District Court in an ongoing age discrimination claim brought against Big Blue.

The New York-headquartered tech firm has been dogged by allegations of age bias since a 2018 article by ProPublica documented a strategy of replacing thousands of older, more expensive workers with younger, cheaper alternatives.
