Workers at Borsa Italiana, Italy’s only stock exchange, are set to strike for two hours on Thursday for the first time in the exchange’s 216-year history.

The strike is organised by bank workers union Fabi, alongside the banking arms of the Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL) and the Italian Confederation of Trades Unions (CISL).

The groups accuse the Milan bourse’s owner, the Netherlands-based Euronext, of moving resources outside of Italy and voiced concern over potential job cuts.
