Pausing Germany’s supply chain law would give firms breathing space

The Bundestag yesterday debated a bill that would implement a two-year pause on Germany’s supply chain law, as businesses continue to complain about the bureaucratic burden.

Effective since 2023, the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (LkSG) requires firms establish a risk management system to identify, prevent, or minimise the risk of human rights violations and environmental damage within their international supply chains.
