A US poultry processing plant will pay almost $165,000 in federal fines and implement enhanced safety measures following the death of a 16-year-old worker last year.

The victim, Duvan Pérez, who was a Guatemalan immigrant, died on 14 July 2023 after becoming entangled in machinery he was cleaning at Mar-Jac Poultry facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
