As key German industries continue to face significant labour shortages, the federal coalition government has turned to foreign workers to fill the gaps.

This month, the second stage of the Skilled Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz) came into effect, making it easier for skilled foreign labour to work in Germany without previously strict professional qualification requirement.
