A long-awaited new bill aims to provide Singapore’s more than 70,000 platform workers with similar protections and rights as other workers in the Lion City. 

Introduced to parliament on 6 August, the Platform Workers Bill intends to bridge the gap between self-employed workers and full employees by creating an interim class of workers, similar to the UK’s Limb (b) employment status.
