The Slovenian Information Commissioner has issued new guidance on workplace monitoring after a court held that employers must provide employees with adequate justification before adding GPS tracking software to company vehicles.

The Administrative Court’s judgment was an approval of an October 2022 Commissioner decision involving a private company’s introduction of GPS tracking software into eight vehicles following a theft from a work site in 2009.
