A federal judge in Texas last week granted a preliminary injunction pausing the effective date of the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) nationwide ban on non-compete agreements.

One day after the FTC approved the ban in April, Texas-based Ryan, a tax services and software provider, sued the agency, claiming it had exceeded its statutory authority and that its actions were “arbitrary and capricious”.
