What’s behind unions’ growing popularity among hourly workers?

In the years following the covid-19 pandemic, data shows that North America’s hourly workers are increasingly drawn to labour unions, as poor working conditions impact job satisfaction levels.

According to a new study from workforce management platform Legion Technologies, 27% of hourly workers in Canada and the US wish there were unionisation efforts at their workplace. A further 26% were unsure, and 37% were not interested in joining a union.
