Discrimination and harassment claims brought by transgender workers continue to dominate employment law headlines on both sides of the Atlantic.

In France, a McDonald’s franchise was recently ordered to pay €7,000 (£6,000), plus legal costs, to a former employee who was subjected to transphobic abuse from her manager.

The employee, a 21-year-old referred to in court documents as “Syntia D”, began transitioning from male to female before joining the Segré fast-food restaurant in September 2022.
